nother year has just passed by, and once again it is time to cast an eye at numbers.Since we know that Tibians often want to hear, read, and discuss about statistics, we thought that another featured article concerning statistics was long overdue.
The last article which dealt with statistics was published on March 5 last year, with the title: Interesting Facts about Guilds. The very first article with the main focus on Statistics was released back in 2009. So it really is about time to focus on some numbers again.
The Market:
Over a year ago, we implemented a new feature into the game, the market. Since then, Tibians have been using this way of trading daily, and the amount of money that was turned over until now is just incredibly high. In order to show you some examples we would like to present you different statistics we recorded during November 2012.
Let us start with the total amount of money that was made from November 1 until November 30. Combining all game worlds 69,702,614,404 gold coins were turned over in the market in November. Out of those almost 70 billions, the turnover created by buy offers was 27,493,388,460 gold coins, which means on the other hand, that the total turnover created by sell offers was 42,209,225,944 gold coins. That is indeed a lot of money. The highest buy offer in November was a golden helmet which was offered for 96,000,000 gold coins, followed by a great shield for 72,000,000, and elemental spikes for 33,200,000 gold coins. On the other side, the highest sell offer was a great shield for 71,000,000 gold coins. The second highest was a grey tome for 40,000,000 and the third highest, again, elemental spikes for 38,000,000 gold coins.

After talking about the highest offers it is also interesting to look at the most-sold and most-purchased items during this timescale. Let us start with the top 10 sold items: In November, all in all, 93,793 brown mushrooms changed hands. The second best selling item is the life ring, which was sold 84,763 times. Next on the top ten is a flask of rust remover with 65,251 trades, closely followed by 64,009 sold assassin stars. On the fifth rank another paladin weapon shows up: 62,304 royal spears were traded.

In the table on the right side you can see the top 10 bought items. Interesting fact about the top ten is that out of these ten items, five are creature products, four belong to the vocation knight and only one, but still on rank one, is an item that is only used by sorcerers.
All in all, those numbers we just provided show that the market is a very successful feature and that the Tibian community knows how to use this trade option.
Hunting, fighting, equipment:
When it comes to statistics, there are a lot of interesting topics to talk about. What are the most hunted monsters, or combinations of them. Where do Tibians hunt most often? What do they use as equipment, and which are the spells that are cast most often?
The most favourite monsters to hunt are rotworms, followed by cyclops and ghouls. The ranks 4, 5, and 6 are taken by dragons, larvae and skeletons. Trolls, tortoises, and swamp trolls get the seventh, eighth, and ninth place. Last of the top ten are minotaurs.
In addition, we also checked the top hunted monster combinations, which are as follows: Not surprisingly, rotworms combined with carrion worms rank first again. The second most hunted combination consists of ghouls and skeletons, which does not come as a surprise either since they often reside together. Bronze goes to dragons and dragon lords. It seems that you do not only not forget your first dragon but also keep hunting them for a very long time.
As we said some lines above, it is also an interesting question where Tibians prefer to hunt. Here we go, the top five hunting grounds are:
1. Kazordoon surroundings 2. Thais surroundings 3. Yalahar foreigner quarter 4. Port Hope surroundings 5. Mount Sternum
So much for that but what are the spells which Tibians use while they are out hunting or fighting? We have collected the top 20 spells for you:
The table is headed by wound cleansing, light healing, and divine missile. Brutal strike, whirlwind throw, and ice strike are the next in line. In the middle of the table you find flame strike, intense healing, energy strike, ethereal spear, berserk, and intense recovery. Recovery and haste are following. 15th then is fierce berserk, 16th heal friend, and 17th another speed spell, strong haste. Strong ice strike, divine healing, and the paladin spell salvation come in last.
Equipment is another topic that is highly discussed by the community. What is the best helmet you can wear? Which armour is best for a paladin? Should I use this pair of legs or another one? Of course, we cannot answer these kinds of questions since it is always a matter of taste, enemies, vocation etc. Instead of taking part in this discussion, we would like to present you the top three equipment items of every single inventory slot except backpacks, rings, and ammunition.
We start from the top: The three most used helmets are in the following order: zaoan helmet, steel helmet, and demon helmet. In addition, the number one item in the slot for amulets and necklaces is platinum amulet, number two is none which means nothing but an empty slot, and number three is a simple scarf. In the thoracic region the most used items are paladin armor, plate armor, and focus cape. On the shield hand, the number one is mastermind shield, followed by demon shield, and dwarven shield. On the other hand the top three are royal spear, hailstorm rod, and emerald sword. On the legs slot, once again a zaoan equipment takes the first place. Zaoan legs are followed by plate legs and golden legs on the second and on the third place. The most commonly used boots are, no surprise, boots of haste. Leather boots come in second place, and in the third place you can find the popular but expensive soft boots.
General statistics:
Last but not least, we want to show you some statistics about some general topics. The most popular vocation of the Tibian community is knight. About 26% of all Tibians are knights. In addition, another 2% of all Tibians are elite knights. On the second rank, about 22% have not met The Oracle yet, and therefore, are still without a vocation. The shooting class of paladins occupies the third rank with circa 16%, and another 2% of the community chose to be royal paladins. Approximately, 15% are sorcerers and 2% of all players know enough about the arcane magic to call themselves master sorcerers. About 14% follow the path of nature, and are called druids. And finally, about 2% earned the title of an elder druid.
The most populated city is still Thais. These days, 34.53% of all Tibians inhabit the town of King Tibianus. 22.36% are currently preparing to face their destiny and are living on Rookgaard. 15.59% are admiring the recently revamped Venore. 15.15% are calling Carlin their home. The elves of Ab?Dendriel share their tree town with 5.47% of the community. Kazordoon, in the Big Old One, hosts 2.21% of the community. The population of Edron is now at 1.26%. 1.17% of all players prefer the desert city Darashia, while another 0.69% chose Yalahar as home town. 0.68% love to watch the pyramids of Ankrahmun. The fewest populated cities of all are Port Hope with 0.37%, Liberty Bay with 0.30%, Farmine with 0.11%, the icy Svargrond with 0.07%, and Gray Beach with 0.04%.
Lastly, a short information about gender. Out of all characters, 82.69% are male and 17.31% female. So, men are still the vast majority.
What about you? Can you find yourself in these statistics? Discuss with other players in the corresponding thread in the Auditorium.
