ibians, we would like to inform you about an adjustment of our privacy policy. The adjustment mainly deals with ad campaigns, tracking game progress and improving the gaming experience for new players.
As you know, our privacy policy specifies in detail which information we collect from players and for which purposes we can process and use this information. Every Tibia player has to agree to this policy upon creating a Tibia account.
The following paragraph 9 will be added:
CipSoft processes IP addresses to measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns, track game progress and improve the gaming experience for new players. The purpose is to identify players who join via an ad campaign. However, this data will not be used to send individual advertisements or promotional emails to these players.
Therefore, the IP address at the time of software download is compared to the IP address at the time of account registration. If they match, the account is associated with details such as the ad partner's name and campaign ID for billing purposes. This practice aligns with CipSoft's legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
A minor adjustment will be made in the second sentence of paragraph 1. Date of birth will be removed since it is not collected, processed and used anymore. The new sentence is: Personal data comprises stock data such as a user's name and address, as well as usage data such as account number, password and IP address.
The privacy policy in the Legal Documents section has been updated accordingly and applies to all accounts created from now on.
For all existing accounts, the adjusted privacy policy will become effective on September 15, 2023. You can find the old version of the privacy policy in the Auditorium until then.
Please take the time to review the updated privacy policy!
